|  Aidy who? Seems like just a finger click away when Adrian Boothroyd was appointed manager at struggling Watford with seven or so games to go at the end of the 2004/2005 season. Barely over 2 years and 6 month ago. How times change, having saved the club from relegation in those very first games, then taking the club to a winning play off final and to the premiership. A relegation that looked awful to most and a cup semi final defeat to Man Utd to soften the blow of a shyte season. Why you may ask , am I posting this crap? The answer is indeed quite sad. Aidy Boothroyd has become the longest reigning manager in the championship after Cotterill's departure from Burnley yesterday. What is even sadder, he is apparently the 15th longest serving manager in the English leagues. I find that rather distressing. Last edited by positive karma : 9th November 2007 at 15:20. |

| Spreads Dept.  | Re: Aidy who? kevin pullein once wrote a piece (ive still got it somewhere but printed out not on computer) that the chances of a team winning promotion can be linked to managerial appointments. someone appointed at the start of the season or within 6 months of the end of the previous has a far greater chance of success. whether thats true or not who knows but he produced figures to justify it.
