It depends how you define the best. Both have unlimited funds and quaility sires, i would suggets that results are the only way one could be better than the other. Coolmore would have the edge in European Classics over the past fews However Godolphin scour Europe in their search for Grade one prizes and have had substanial success. Godolphins boss has taken a stance not to use Coolmore sires which has probably had a knock on effect on his breeding operation over the past few seasons, However through Jim Bolger they are now accessing Coolmore stalions. I would say that it’s a matter of preference as these things tend to go in cycles Coolmore are popular right now. Godolphin main man has some strange ideas which he won’t move on, he continues to take horses away from their UK base in the winter and relocate them in Dubai this has clearly had a detrimental effect on their earlier season form for several years now. But Godolphin claim they haven’t had any Potential early season Classic types since Dubawi. Too many horses fail to show any sort of form until Royal Ascot for me so the wintering in Dubai must be having some effect on their horses. Maybe Sheik Mohammed is a bit smarter than we think Godolphins horses tend to progress from Royal Ascot on wards and maybe he feels they have a better chance of holding their form into the Autumn where there are some highly lucrative prizes to be won. What ever your preference both are very powerful Worldwide and warrant respect in grade one races.
