Ranieri is nothing more than a run of the mill manager in the scheme of things. He is the Continental equivalent of, say, Souness now. I cannot see why any players who are not his mates would be lining up to sign for him. If the money is offered they will sign (look at West Ham). They certainly will not sign BECAUSE of someone like Ranieri. Wenger, Ferguson, Mourinho, someone who was a great player, yes. Ranieri, no.

As for Houllier, my patience with football in general and it's ongoing out of control cheating and negative tactics is really starting to wear thin. I do not want to watch negative, boring teams with no asperations other than stoping the others scoring in every match of significance. I certainly do not want to watch the way Houlliers teams seek to replicate this (apart from Lyon where my Grandma could have won the league with them playing flair based football, they were that far ahead of the others).

If Wigan and City do not get some serious matters sorted out during the summer then it is likely that the points will be withheld for those fixtures as neither will deserve them

Ron, from my inital impression I would summarise as follows. (How grand)

This forum is obviously well kept and a place that people take pride in, or at least treat with a significant amount of respect. If you are looking for the intersting debates that have become rare on Betfair then this is the place you will probably find them.

Saying that, there is definitely a pace for having a laugh and humour too.

Personally, I will still be posting on Betfair as their are far more opportunities to take the piss and the forum there is more akin to grafetti on the toilet wall. I also doubt that finding easily ridiculed idiocy would be as easy, judging on what I have seen so far. Obviously that is a plus point, but I also need to take the piss from time to time and there are enough idiots on Betfair to make that more than possible. Plus some very decent people too, obviously.

I thin the above refers to chit chat more than anything else. Plus there is also a private messenger facility that prevents the forum being full of 'hello' and 'cup of tea' threads, as befits the tone of it.

That all may make it sound pompus and humourless. I don't think it is in the slighest, if anything some of the threads are far funnier then stuff on Betfair. It is just different.

You talking bollocks would be nothing new but it seems a pretty good run down mate!!
It does seem a happy medium on here with well educated threads & the odd funy one.
As you know, I got kicked off BF for swearing!! I didn't threaten anyone, I never called anyone a N**** (hate the word) & I was never racist.
Maybe that's where I went wrong, they all stil post on there!
Some very decent posters on CC who were up for a laugh, but also some do gooder twats up their own arses.
I'll look forward to moving up the ladder on here, if it ever happens!!
