I'm committed to something else on Monday, otherwise I was about to pay the £12 entry just for the stewards enquiry regarding my front crawl!!

Bike? BIKE???? So, a shopping trolley is fine. God, I've got to give this some thought now.

btw it's definitely on the social calendar for next year. Not only that, but I'm entering!! Who'll join me?

Here's what you'll be up against...

http://llanwrtyd-wells.powys.org.uk/eventbogbike.htm

Incidentally, if you scroll down to the bottom, Rosebud, you'll see 4th in 2000 in about two weeks is an American representative.

JR Daeschner is an author and has wrote about such things (incidentally, not unlinked, but is the Ashbourne Derby on your itinerary?)

"True Brits" is the read for you...

.
Gulp! The Parker brothers look formidable, as does the improving Evans (4th,3rd last two years).

And what about the Man v Horse race in "the village"?! Heck, what a place! Reminds me of Stonybridge!

Just scrolling through gurning, cheese-rolling,faggot cutting, shin-kicking and the mob football at Ashbourne. At least one of these needs to be there. I hope the gurning precedes Ascot by a single day

Don't forget to try the International Bognor Birdman event!

We are going for the first time this year to give the kids a laugh. September 9th/10th if anyone else is interested.

Hell, this is FANTASTIC !

I'm going to take part in a foot-race with a horse through a Welsh Village, pull faces with Cumbrian villagers, ride a bike through a bog, tumble down a hillside chasing a cheese, then fly off the end of a pier with some rudimentary feathers strapped to my arms.

God knows what the wife's going to do

John Sparkes I always found absolutely (unintended, but left in once I'd done it) hilarious. Shocking that it hasn't been given a DVD release.

Edit: Forgot that the old man he played (who would talk about "stimulating the old clematis" and make you laugh and cringe at the same time) was actually called Bert...

Avoid Ascot like the plague. Wimbledon is a laugh and quite good value. Lords and the Oval for the Tests are both worth it. The boat race can be amusing although not much to watch, more about drinking and welcoming the return of semi-decent weather.

Don't forget the MMA "Cage Rage" night at Wembley Arena on the 30th.....Black tie for the £1,000 VIP ringside seats. I believe they supply free plastic aprons to protect them from the blood
