| Yeah I'm a total mug for these things. Millionaire is the classic default game, and probably the easiest one to win reasonable prizes from (and definitely the one I've lost the most money to The updated version of Millionaire is a bit tougher though - less time to answer questions and the life lines are a bit different. Hangman 2 (the rusty sheriff's badge) is one I like, and one it's possible to win on. Hangman 3 (haunted house) isn't so good imo. The original cluedo was good - all suspects lit pays £5.. but the new one is shit - every time you make a wrong accusation the prize fund decreases (it only starts at 10 quid) - i think the tactics are the complete reverse from the original cluedo in that you need to try to avoid landing in rooms. Bullseye is good - although requires a bit of co-ordination when aiming the darts, so not a good idea after too many drinks. Same goes for crystal maze, which all about manual dexterity (and palm mashing the screen in the crystal dome) Trivia for Dummies and Pub Quiz are generally quite easy to take a quid out of, but harder to get any further up the prizes. Hex is a new game which is quite good - you have to fill the missing letters in words, given a clue. It's not that easy though. Word Up, where you have to make words from a big jumble of letters looks like the easiest thing in the world, but is incredibly frustrating. Play it drunk and you think 'if only i was sober this'd be so easy'. Play it sober and your mind just freezes. |

| I love them too. Top of the Pops is probably my fave, because I seem to be much better at retaining music trivia than other types. I remember playing DLT's give us a break in the late 80s. Must have been one of the first quizzers, and not very sophisticated at stopping you winning. Worst questions are always the stupid number ones where the answers are statistically very close together.

| Deal or no Deal is a new one that is quite good but only seen it in one pub near the stadium. Hopefully it will be in more pubs in Wigan later :-)

What is the area of Lake Ontario in square miles? A: 7040 B: 7140 C: 7240 D:7340 It's basically the machine deciding you're not going to win this one. When it starts chucking them out it's best to just stop playing. Only some sort of addicted fool would carry on ploughing pound coins in to a machine that has already shown it is just going to screw you over if you get anywhere near a big prize.. | |

| Gold Member | Stand and deliver ( a bit like hex) is my favourite game, although it doesnt feature in the newer IT boxes. I never understood why Stand and Deliver is basically hangman, but the one called hangman is not like hangman. Also have enjoyed some success with the donkey derby and blockbusters. The deal or no deal is excellent but a quid a go is a bit excessive

| Gold Member | A good deal or no deal machine is hard to find. The first 1 i discovered was a quid a go. Which I thought was quite excessive, but on playing it the more goes you have the points will decrease giving the chance to get to the end game and win 5-10 quid. Typically after putting a few quid you will end up getting points totals in the 20,000 - 30,000 region. On hunting out some other Itboxs with Deal or No deal I found ones that were 50p a game and they are ridiculous. No ryhme or reason to the points. You can be pumping in the cash and still get stuffed with 60,000 - 70,000 points to get. And when you get to the end game it doesnt mind shafting you either. I assume tactics wise (when trying to get the points), we all deal at the first offer regardless? Have also played take it or leave which The Great mentioned and it is a bag o shite

| Quiz Machines!!! Arrrgh, just another tax i have to pay after going to quiz night with the missus!! We miss out on the prizes (much more often than not!), and then she and her friends pump pound coins into the thing whilst randomly mashing the screen. I do like Hex though!!! Jon |
