Default Vindons Selections

Well after having some time off I thought I’d come back and give it another go, this time around I will be a lot more wiser in my selections in the way that if I fancy 10 horses I will point out them 10 horses but if I fancy non I just won’t post up, I will not be selecting horses just for the sake of posting. I will be setting out a different format than the way I used to write, hopefully to make things easier for me and also people reading my posts. Lastly I will be using a point system, 5 being the maximum and 1 being the minimum (a 5 point bet will be used very rarely with my selections). Maybe this new way will help me out but its just an experiment at the minute.

Newton Abbot

The only jumps meeting of the day but the meeting I think will be the easier to find the most winners and the first race should be no exception as Classi Maureen (2.00 - 3 points) steps up to try and take this two mile one furlong handicap hurdle. This horse looked a decent prospect when she moved to Evan William’s stable last September as he put her in a novice chase event at Plumpton where she won very easily by 14 lengths after that her next two races were poor which led to a move to another yard. Mrs D Hamer got this horse and sent her back hurdling at Towcester where she tried to make all but was just touched off into second. Her second and latest run for the yard looked very good when never seeing a rival at Uttoxeter as she used the same tactics as her Towcester run. To be honest although she has the 7lbs penalty she has a very attractive weight in this fairly weakish race, should take this race easily to me carrying this feather weight then can go onto better events. Moving one hour on I think the Hobbs trained Red Society (3.00 - 1 point ew) could run a big race now back chasing and running off a mark one pound lower than his last chasing win. Plenty of signs showing he can run a big race as he gets the very talented Dickie Johnson on board again and also running a very good second last time out at Exeter, conditions will suit. To round things off at this meeting it’s worth having a bit on the favourite, Keepitsecret (4.30 - 2 points)who will be a tough cookie to crack at this three mile three furlong marathon. Ridden by the champ once again who will show no mercy as the horse will be on the sounder ground which he prefers because when running on soft through the winter he shown no sort of form so conditions will suit.

Wolverhampton

I’m not a big fan of All weather racing to be honest as most of the time it’s weak horses that run their and can be sometimes hard to work the form out. But the one runner on the card today that will take plenty of beating will be the short priced Rasaman (3.15 - 3 points) who is trying to complete a hat-trick. Cost 72,000 gns which don’t mean a thing for his chances but is quite a lot of money all the same for a horse running at Wolverhampton mid-week. The only rival I can see troubling this horse could be Diamond Diva but since Handicapping the horse has not shown a lot. He’s out of a half sister to Rakti which shows this horse as class, which is why I am picking this one today as I am a strong believer that class will prevail. Statistics are on his side also as Michael Jarvis has a 50% strike rate around Wolverhampton so far this year and same goes for the master tactician Philip Robinson who only comes here for this one ride before going to Windsor on the evening.

Night Racing (Windsor/Pontefract)

Pontefract stages the biggest race of the day which is the one mile listed event worth nearly £20,000. The selection to some will be original but I’m going for the Ribblesdale winner Mont Etoile (8.15 - 2 points) who is a very classy horse and has been running in Group 1 company on her last two starts. Comes here today for her seasonal debut and will surely be hoping for a winning return. I couldn’t say this was my best bet of the day because the trip is not ideal really as she would want a bit further. The reason I’m still sticking with this one is because again I think class will see her through and would be a good bet if you could get odds against. Switching over to Windsor now it may be worth having a small bet on Black Moma (8.05 - 1 point ew) who races here off a 4lbs lower mark than when last seen at Newmarket in a much better race than this where she could only finish mid-division. With also having nearly two months off and Richard Hughes riding for the first time I will not be surprised to see this Hannon filly run into a place.

Rasaman 3.15 Wolverhampton (NAP) 3 points

Classi Maureen 2.00 Newton Abbot (NB) 3 points

Thankyou and good luck
