Default And So England Finally Win A Match

Ok so it was "only" against New Zealand but we had to start somewhere.

Thought there were a few positives to come out of the game - Flintoff goes without saying - but we kind of knew what he could do anyway. I though Jimmy Anderson bowled very well, and in Monty and Darymple we finally seem to have a pair of spinners who can slow an game down and regain some sort of control. If we could just find an opening bat along with Strauss - then i think we could be getting somewhere. I like the idea of Mal Loye at the top of the order. He may not always come off but if he does we could be 55/1 off 9 overs rather than 28/0. I know what i'd prefer.

You could then have Vaughan at 3, Bell at 4, Collingwood 5, Freddie 6, The Keeper at 7 (whether thats Nixon or not), then Darymple, Lewis, Anderson and then Monty.

Not for one second am i saying this team could live with Australia, South Africa, Pakistan or India - but it could possibly stop us getting sucked down into the bottom of the pile.

Thoughts?
