36-18-26 “Shezamania” 36-18-26 “Shezamania”
I still remember the days when those numbers were the definition of a shapely woman but sadly nowadays they represent merely statistics estimating the percentage chances of the front runners in a reality TV show.
As St. Peter stands at the pearly gates of heaven waiting to see if he will be granted admission or have his vision shattered forever, most punters are scratching their heads wondering if they have misplaced their faith in this messiah of our times. The market is very shaky at the moment and balances on a knife edge giving the impression that we are all awaiting the angel Davina’s pronouncement on the future of St Pete and that her decision cannot come quickly enough.
The recent shattering of complacency brought about by the sudden appearance of multiple polls showing a huge lead for Aisleyne, followed by the apparent confirmation that all is lost after viewing the Special Bets blog, is enough to test the nerve of even the bravest punter. Of course, after 13 weeks, doubts about ones decisions creep into the equation and never before was the saying true “If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing theirs”….
Initially, I have to admit, I scratched my head a few times before setting about investigating what exactly was happening here. I know that a few UFO watchers joined me, rather than sitting indoors, for they too believed that “the truth is out there”. However I think it was Oscar Wilde who said 'the truth is rarely pure and never simple'. I did post my hypothesis regarding the very real and very apparent threat of Aisleyne at the midway point of my research on another thread (Is this the time to back Pete), and this post is a follow up to that.
Empirical evidence is now available and substantial enough to repudiate claims of an Aisleyne accession to the heavenly throne of BB7. Recent polls are beginning to shed new light on the protest vote and the head of steam and enthusiasm that saw the initial public polls distorted and these new polls clearly confirm the findings of other non public polls (for a grand total of 21) that have been screaming a Pete win for some time. Aisleyne, in the immortal words of cycling legend “doesn’t have the legs for it” or in the (slightly altered) words of the next to heavenly Pete, “shezamania”.
Oh, and by the way, I intend to stick my neck on the line and give you my best current estimate of the %age votes for the 6 finalists.
Pete 36
Aisleyne 26
Glyn 18
Nikki 10
Richard 8
Jennie 2
