Okay you know I'm a novice, but I was directed to this place as you apparantly have a few decent players in your ranks. I need advice as to what I should be concentrating on as a beginner. Not a great reader so was hoping for some simple stuff, and not read a 400 page book. One thing I have saw, is many comments that the cards are not random, or is this just spilt milk? I know it is quiet in this place, but I hope someone will notice and respond.

| mess around on the play tables until you get a hang of the basics or play very minute stakes.

Thanks for your reply, interesting I am sure you were one of the guys mentioned, so obviously well thought of. Probably need to add more info, I feel I have passed the 'play' tables level. Happy enough to play in the tables 5-10 and tourneys up to $10 dollars. But know I am a notch behind at times. But I also feel I am improving, but not sure about how I raise, when I raise should I raise etc same with caliing and folding. I play on B365, are they okay or who are the best ones to play with? Thanks for your reply. PS. If I showed you my stats from B365, could they be easily analysed? That said I don't play raked tables very often, tourney's with limits does me. Will look in again tomorrow.

Thanks for all the tips. The Harrington book worked a treat, still shit at poker, but the handicap is down. Started playing Thunder touneys on Betfair for a fiver a time and winning more than a lose. However is there a way to deal with the guy who is sitting wating for a middle card for an eight high straight(but still goes all in with me) and he gets it on the river? And beats my three aces!!!

Hi Poker novice, I have just joined the betting forum, and would be happy to give advice if you still require it. I have been playing poker for quite some time, mainly internet based but have played alot of "live" poker as well. If you still require some help then please reply and I will do my upmost to help. I haven't added anything here as I have noticed that the last message is a little over a month old. best wishes. The family man.
