I think it's the Lionel Messi show. No Robben, no Crespo so a few likely candidates removed. 11/2 about the little whizzkid isn't great but I'll have some anyway!
I'm also having a small tickle on the boy Messi.
He is special.

I think 11/2 Messi is a good price. It's easy to forget, with him being injured, but he was out-performing Ronaldino for Barca in the early part of the year. He really is a class act, and has the potential to run rings around a makeshift Dutch defence.

Tevez would be fine as well. I'm very happy with these two against the field. They'll certainly get the chances.

The other thing to note with Tevez and Messi is that they'll be looking for big performances to nick a place in the starting line up in the later rounds.

I assume we've all backed the Argies here?
I have had some of the 2.11 -0.5 on the Asian Handicap with the benefit of 1% commision.
Could not resist it.

Messi is also Maradona's little pet and given how many camera shots we get of Diego it makes a nice positive story if his little protege gets it.

Cheers lads. I would have done Dindane as well if I didn't already have a vested interest in him scoring a goal or two. Happy with that.

I can't see anything clear-cut for today. Ronaldinho again at 11/4? Totti at 10/1?

I've had an early bet for friday though. Fabregas looks almost certain to start for Spain. 14/1 with Spodds.

They seem to like giving it to Spanish midfielders despite Torres taking the eye. Yes, that's a good bet ilunga. Will have some.

Ronaldinho... hmmm. He's been poor so far. He keeps getting the ball in static positions and men are quickly on him. Perhaps because the two lumps up front aren't making runs. Certainly he seems to be missing the movement of Eto'o that he gets at club level.

Kaka at 9/2 may be better. Won it in the first game and but for missing a sitter against the Aussies would probably have got it again. But will Brazil shuffle the pack with the group already won?

one play at the moment

italy v czech

i fancy italy to win this game 1-0 or 2-1.

with toni not starting the match this takes the bookies favourite out of the running. therefore have opted for his partner in crime, gilardino at 9/1 with PP, 5/1 everywhere else.
there will be more focus on gilardino as toni is not playing and after scoring in their 1-1 draw with usa i think that 9/1 represents great value.

nothing fancied in ghana/usa but feel usa will win 3-1

off to look at japs v brazil

good luck all

I took Totti at 10s. Not watching that game. How is he doing? Italy getting the rub of the green?

Waded in on Kaka at 9/2 with a saver on Ronaldinho (both Paddy Power). Not sure that Japan will get stuck in as much so these two should have a bit more time on the ball.
