Good thread gents. In tonights England v Sweden game Rooney is the obvious favourite and at 11/2 hold a bit of appeal. Any sort of decent performance from Rooney will make him stand out in this side at the moment. There is talk of Gerrard being rested and I have a feeling that FIFA are looking to share out the MOM's (in the group stages anyway) and with Beckham and Lampard already having received MOM awards that leaves Owen, Cole and Hargreaves? from the midfield/striking positions. Rooney at 11/2 is a bet for me though. For Sweden the 14's about Freddie is too big but with him already having picked up a MOM I am a bit wary of getting involved there. Larsson is the type of player FIFA love to give these to and if Sweden get any sort of result he will have to come into the reckoning.

also agree with rooney, if he plays ok then he will still win the award and 11/2 is also big other fancies today : wanchope, scored a couple already, always noticed due to his lanky stride and poor control, worth an interest at 9/1 lahm for the germans, won the man of the match for their win over the poles and is in my opinion one of the players of the tournament so far, so 18/1 with 365 is a definite play finally, dwight yorke at 5/1 generally is worth a bob or two, mainly because the other 21 players are not known to fifa and yorke will just smile for 90 minutes to win the award. good luck all who play | |

Some more names lobbed into the hat Agustin Delgado - already won two and obviously liked by the technical committee. Plus I don't see this as a walkover for Germany. Any of the Ecuadorian back four - especially if they can hold the bosh goalless. John Terry - big price if he puts on his usual sterling performance.

Good stuff David. I'm having a few quid on Dos Santos at 16s. I'm surprised he has been kept on the bench until now. I'm sure he'll be itching to prove a point. Paraguay have seriously disappointed with their forward play so far. Touted as Michael Ballack's long-term replacement at Bayern, I'll be interested to see how he performs here. He definitely starts, unlike Rotan

I think that Nelson Cuevas is a real talent but he doesn't start. Have cracked just before kick-off and taken the 11/2 about Rooney. Also had a little on Lampard at 9s. FIFA not afraid to give award to same player twice and he really must ping one in soon. With Hargreaves sitting he should be able to roam freely. Yes, he's on yellow card but not too bothered by that.
