| Decent informative fair on show at York today but small fields in the Graded Races along with ultra competitive handicaps its lead me to the Knavesmire the Spanish Archer. However Salisbury and Newmarket can proof fruitful and I have 3 selections. In the 1.50 at Salisbury I fully expect QUOTATION to break her maiden it appears the cleaner has hovered up all the E/W value about Arthur’s Girl who’s sure to run well on a more positive note the cash for her has held up the price for the selection. She did look a little one paced in her first race at Doncaster last season and the soft ground put pay to her chances at Yarmouth on her 2nd start. I am informed she’s moving well and this track with its stiff uphill finish will play to her strengths. She could well make up into a Royal Ascot type and she is a strong selection. In the 2.50 At Salisbury FASCINATIN RHYTHM looks massively over priced the 10/1 with Betfred should be taken (if you can get on) this horse is fancied and will go off much shorter. What ever your preferences it could be a back to lay or I as would suggest a value bet. At Newmarket I can pass on a strong word for Jeremy Noseda s colt in the 6.55 the price is a tad on the short side for and with B-tfair Eddie doing the driving I am happy to watch it win. The final selection is in the 7.25 KAATEB this is a progressive type and at 5 y.o it’s unusual for the maktoums to keep a gelding in training in the uk normally they are shipped out Dubai to entertain the family around the camel tracks. This would suggest that Angus Gold and Co are confident he can pay his way this season and although up against solid enough handicappers he’s clearly highly regarded in the Handicap sphere and I fully expect him to add to his tally the yard is going well and the word from Newmarket is one of positively. |

| An exasperating day Quotation took it up over 1f out and traded around evens but flattened out a furlong down. She’s not one to give up on just yet maybe a mile will be her trip. FASCINATIN RHYTHM was well backed as I predicted and traded at 2.2 in running but again stopped as it was shot 3f out this run was too bad to be true. And finally Richard Hills has given KAATEB one of the worse rides ive seen for a long time. A front runner, he somehow managed to hold it up in last place in a slow run race. Incredibly the Horse managed to lead inside the final furlong only to empty close home. He’s a winner without a penalty as long as the Penalty called Richard Hills isn’t sitting on top nest time! |
