| Hi Everyone, Was half thinking of introducing myself in the Sports bar, but mindful of the 'quality not quanity' requirements here, so I will try to kill two birdie's I wasn't a regular on BF, so not sure anyone would remember me, I think it was Mr Ed, but it's an old account and I have no great desire to get involved again. Golf and football are my main punting vices, but from what I am told, I'm not sure I can bring thye same gourmet delights to the table as what is already there. But even if it's just a scrunched up napkin, I will endeavour to bring it. Anyway, back to the golf, it was nice to see 'the 6 million dollar hardon' Step forward my first fancy Mike Weir, Got derailed at Muirfield Village a couple of weeks ago on day one, appeared to pull it back on the second day, going -2 after 4 with two par 5's ahead, only to derail again. Last week was a similar story, but he managed to make the cut and get all 4 rounds in. Weir record in US Opens is not that of a 150/1(thanks Laddies) chance. For the stat men too. He has improved his position from round three to round four in his last 4 US Opens, he has improved his position from 3 to 4 in all 10 the events he has played 4 rounds. So we want him lying second on Saturday. Robert Allenby was due some burn out this year and I hope that happened between the Masters and Muirfield Village, with last week showing signs of a return. Still too much of a bridemaid for me, so that is why Stan James 80's WITHOUT Woods, appeals more than the 80's with him!!! One last throw is Tom Pernice who missed the cut last week by one, despite hitting an 80 in round one. Last year's US Open saw him fire a first round 79 to follow it with 72, 70 and 71, one of the best finishes in the field. A better start may just produce a better finish, but more inclined to take the 100/1 top US without Woods. Sorry my last throw is Davis Love, simply because I would contenplate topping myself if he romped home and I wasn't on!!!! A footnote for the Euro event, Maritz 2nd last year is 80's first 6 at Sunderlands, this event won't take a great deal of winning. Last edited by harryhoudini : 13th June 2007 at 15:51. |

| One running, one jogging and one has fallen. I would have taken that before the start so not too displeased. At the risk of aftertiming, I managed to to get 150/1 Ames in running on Thursday when he was in the clubhouse at +3. Too be honest I threw a couple of other darts too Green and Howell at 400/1(a casey like round would put Howell back in it, but that is forlorn). 100/1 Mickleson had the heart beating faster for a while too. But the main reason, I mention this is to comment on in running for the golf. I used to be as stubborn as hell as every bookmaker adopted the Dick Turpin approach to in running betting, and refuse to bet. But now I do like to find a few gems(for example, I had Ames as 100/1 tops, if still 1/5th first five, and Mickleson no more than 80's(factoring in, he would be a force if close enough on day 4). Sadly I do see this event as a bit of a lottery, but at least I'm happy enough to still be holding a couple of tickets. |

| Gold Member | Very good write-up HH. More of the same and I'm sure you should be promoted to Gold very soon. Good luck with Ames

| Certainly partial to some arbing, but not articulate enough to be the guy you are talking about. Thinking back I think I had to put a full stop after my Mr, as the other was taken. And I only went on to find out some information and my mind was blank for a name so that was the best I could think of. This time my name has a little more thought, and hopefully a head start in my attempts to escape bronze. Back to the golf, it seems fitting that such a course should bring out such a performance from the greatest man in golf, I fully expect him to go on and win from there. Not totally convinced Baddeley will stay there(ability not in question, just everything has its price), so I may lay him in the place market. |
