Default Betfair trading software - testing request

I have developed a BetFair trading package and am looking for BetFair users to test it before its formal launch.

If you are willing and able to test my Betfair Trading software private message me and I'll send you the link. This would be a great help and testers will be given an extended free usage when we finally launch. The current status is:

* Web site - still under development - not yet advertising - feedback more than welcome.
* Trading software - Beta trial - fully functional testing for bugs and general issues.

I have not posted the link or website direcly on this forum for fear of being flamed... :0( ( I will post if the_mgt says its OK )

Thanks in advance for your time

Your polite approach is much appreciated,Betgizmo.
My advice to you is to post something about yourself so the forum can get some idea of what you are like.As things stand you are just a one post would-be spammer, albeit with a touch of class.
Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the response the_mgt.

Advertising this sort of thing is easy, just throw money at it and get people to your website, but testing a betfair trading application is somewhat harder. You have to seek out like minded individuals who trade on befair and these people are few and far between.

This is a new direction for me. I spent the last 5 years trying to win on the dogs, massing some 10,000 lines of dog race data, pushing it through all sorts of analysis and neural network software only to come to the conclusion that rolling a dice was more profitable.

Then I started using betfair and developed my own application to trade, a year down the line I made the decision to launch it to the public, hence my previus request for testers.

Oh and had a baby girl last week, so red eyed and smilling at the mo.

ts, I'm not certain Bronze members can send/receive PMs

I'm sure the_mgt can confirm or deny...

I agree that it's nice to see a touch of class in this kind of offer... I wish you well betgizmo, although it won't be for me. Congrats on the baby too.

Ok,

I went to the link to your homepage, which you can find under your Profile and downloaded the software.

It installs fine.

I like the initial layout, but, it has a very long way to go, before its worth anything.

I presume you know of Gruss software .. how long before the features available on that, will be ready for your sw ?

A massive thing, for a lot of traders, is speed of refesh. I suggest you have a refresh speed box on the screen, so people can judge how fast it is - and make a decsion as to whether they think the architecture can expand, and will be useful in time.

As I say, at the moment, it looks like a good start, but - unless u have many things under the hood, not yet available (maybe) in the beta, its gonna need some work.

Cheers

I'd advise people to be very very wary of anybody who wants you to download an exe file. Especially a stranger to a website.

I know nothing about "betgizmo" but there's no way I'm going to download it as this is exactly how hackers get access to your computer and betfair password etc etc etc.

In my view it's only a matter of time before hackers figure out that it's free money to fool people into giving you their betfair passwords and then proceed to dump money to their friends in losing bets on the site.

Only download .exe files that you are 100% sure come from reputable sources.

Sadly I can't argue with any of that... however I can offfer a suggestion. Many of us these days have at least one outdated pc/laptop kicking around. Combine this with a brand new, poorly funded, and regularly emptied betfair account and you have a test bed.

I totally agree Hear no evil, which is why I am current looking at a trusted cert, for the download process. Its on my ToDo list but takes time to apply for.

And thanks for the comments Team_sport, I will look to including refresh rate in the task bar on the next iteration.

Ok here's a deal gizmo...I have put you up to Silver membership which basically means you can use the PM facility but not view or post in anything but the bronze forums. I have taken your link out of your profile but if anyone wants to contact you by PM they now can. If you send out any unsolicited PM's then this will be withdrawn.
For you to get a higher membership, as the_mgt says, we need to know more about you and or see you posting sensible posts that are of interest apart from your betting software.
