Saarbrucken v Karlsruhe II

Karlsruhe II will be without several key players. Both goalkeepers, their best central defender and their most influential forward were selected by Karlsruhe's first team (they are playing 1860 today, almost at the same time). Saarbruecken were poor recently, I admit it's more like betting against Karlsruhe but I think 2.1 is an decent price for Karlsruhe II to lose today.

Pirmasens FK - Hoffenheim 1 @ 8.6 (Betfair)

While Hoffenheim are certainly more likely to win today, I just have to back Pirmasens at such a price. I rate Pirmasens' coach Jung highly, at home they beat Werder Bremen in the cup and they won against Stuttgarter Kickers at home when Kickers were at the top of table. Pirmasens appear to perform better against the strong opponents and weaker when everyone expects them to win. They 16th in a league with 18 teams with 11 points after 14 games (3-2-9), yet the average price for the winning 1X2 selection in their games was as high as 2.66. I'm hoping for another surprise.

Pfullendorf - Kaiserslautern II 1 @ 1.98 (Betfair)

Like Karlsruhe yesterday, Kaiserslautern II are playing at the same time as Kaiserslautern I and their best player, goalkeeper Fromlowitz, will be with the first team. I've been watching Pfullendorf a couple of times over the last few weeks and even though they will miss two defenders after two sending offs in their last match in Karlsruhe (where they lost 1-4 with 3 of the 4 goals scored from the penalty spot), I expect their strong midfield to win this important match.

I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed by Pirmasens, they gave up when Hoffenheim scored the second goal after 50 minutes. Thought this would be much tighter.

Karlsruhe II - Sportfreunde Siegen 1 @ 2.8 (Betfair)

I think Karlsruhe's price is too big, probably because they lost at Saarbruecken last Tuesday. But as I wrote above, Karlsruhe II were fielding a highly weakened team. Today, except central midfielder Schroeder all important players will be playing. Siegen did not convince me this season (with the exception of forward Krebs who is on a loan from Strasbourg) and if Karlsruhe can keep playing at the level they were playing at for the last two months, the home win should be more likely than the price implies. At least I can't see any reason why Siegen are being traded at a lower price than Karlsruhe II.

My second bet will be
Ingolstadt - Darmstadt 1 @ 2.28 (Betfair)
