| Gold Member | any thoughts on whether alonso will start for spain tomorrow? 16/1 looks generous considering opposition and the fact that he has been man of the match already? if not then maybe a play on joaquin shevchenko takes the eye at 5/1 as well |

| Thought Ronaldinho was absolutely strolling that one. Then off he goes after 71, Ronaldo gets his second and he loses out. That's the risk I guess. Hakan Yakin for me today - 12s at Paddy Power. |

| Just one bet for me today - Willy Sagnol at 40/1 with PP Decent price and with France sure to get at Togo from the off he could be a key player. In any event I'm not going skint, (too quickly), backing a decent 40/1 shot. |

| Yes, big price Ozz. Good luck. Have watched Malouda a few times and he seems quite bright. Scored a cracking goal in the 1-0 friendly win over Mexico and seems less of a headless chicken than Ribery. Henry and Trezeguet always look a bit static for France so Malouda should hopefully provide some forward movement from midfield. Will have a dabble at 12s. |

| Think this market has run its course with me now. Was well up but have given a big chunk back now so losing a bit of faith. I think the group games were the best way to cash in but now it seems harder to predict with plenty of good players in each match now. Was on Ballack at 4s yesterday and was convinced he'd done enough but wasn't to be (Klose got it). Fun while it lasted and have won a few quid but can't see an edge now. Anyone else think the same or will you judge each market on its merits? |

fortunately i had a few winners in the group stages to make it pay, but have since not really had much look. thought ronaldhino/kaka the other night was a solid choice and i also had a small amount on ballack yesterday, who i cant believe did not win. it is much tougher now in the knockout stages as there are 22 players that can now win the award whereas in the group stages it could be narrowed down significantly. i will watch rooney with interest today and hopefully get some more profits, but as you i will be watching the market with interest on the games probably without having too much of an investment | |

| I won't bet on this market again. How the hell can they give it to Terry!?! He wasn't even the best centre back on the pitch. Almost as bad as their decision to award Crespo that goal |

| "He is the Budweiser Man of the Match because he made few errors and had a perfect game in defence," said FIFA Technical Study Group member Alvin Corneal. "He made up for his team-mates' mistakes and he was the one who stopped most of Ecuador's best chances."

| John Terry!!!! Carrick or Hargreaves for me, possibly Ashley Cole. Definitely not John Terry. I was on Deco last night and thought he was a shoe-in until that wanker sent him off for fuck all! Saying that he probably should have gone for that swiping lunge when he only got a yellow. |

| At least he (Terry) had the decency to look embarrassed... What was Deco thinking? He knew what the ref was like, and still picked up the ball in the dying seconds. I've no sympathy at all.

| While I agree with your sentiments Riccardo......the 78th minute is hardly the "dying seconds"......in fact it might only be midway through the second half at Old Trafford
