Bad spell in tournament…a change today perhaps! Lay Germany 1.64 (2.27 on FIFA) Lay Argentina 1.42 (2.63 on FIFA, should be worse but have increased their rating due European players and experience they have) colo...lays losing quite badly, bank about 40% down...bets level....

Rankings close to prices yesterday, so no bet... Today Again prices close to rankings…Switzerland 2.54 as opposed to 2.33 on rankings, so want to back them, but neither side looks like they will ship goals, and with Switzerland favs, don’t really like laying Ukraine, or backing Switzerland, want to be on draw as well. Have bought Switzerland supremacy at 0.12 on Spreadfair…small downside for the draw

I'm watching the Brazil game shaking my head at: a) how lucky Brazil are b) how none of their challenges are worthy of a yellow card c) how that second goal wasn't given offside If i was a conspiracy theorist I'd be tempted to call the whole thing bent!

That's the one aspect of the World Cup that has depressed me - the big sides getting pretty much every decision. It wasn't blatantly transparent until Italy last night and now Brazil. It's almost as if Mr Blatter had his desired final eight teams jotted down a month ago. Makes you wonder why they even bothered with the group stages. Such a shame Sepp's Switzerland got dumped out last night

Hargreaves outstanding and, despite my dislike of the man, Crouch has been superb since he came on. I somehow doubt we can hang on for 30 minutes extra time though

I'm currently eating a large slice of humble pie. I called Zidane 'gone at the game' earlier in the WC and commented on how this was a bridge too far for him and that it was sad to see his legend tarnished. How wrong can you be?!

And you have no idea how. The fact is, someone (I think on here) said Real Madrid were poor this year because their contingent were playing for pay with their minds already in June-July. And that would be why Ronaldo looks like he's been on the empanadillas.

| What a way to finish a game. Cute pass by Pirlo and Grosso with his Norman Whiteside impersonation. And then Gilardino, who I've slagged off all tournament, plays a brilliant reverse ball to Del Piero who coolly slots it into the top corner. Still can't believe Italy went forward after going 1-0 up.
