| Bastian Schweinsteiger looks surprisingly big at 4/1 (VC bet, Expect) to score anytime v Costa Rica given that Germany are 1/4. Has scored in three of last four friendlies and will also be playing on his home pitch. My only bet on the opener I think. |

| Spreads Dept. | even though he i still 14s at Expekt, and at least 12 at british based firms i have managed to get a good % of my stake on the Bresciano bet away at BF at 9.2

| Good spot on big Mertesacker. With Ballack out he will be the "go to guy" from set pieces. All 5 of his Bundesliga goals were from a corner or free kick.

| Penalties will in all likelihood be taken by Frings. Both Podolski and Schweinsteiger are possibilities but I fancy the veteran to step up. He's also less likely to be substituted.

| Did anyone happen to look at Bet365's first player to get booked market today? I don't know if it was an error on bestbetting or not but the prices were all over the place. Unfortunately I dilly-daliied trying to find out team info and possibly missed a 66/1 shot that should have been a lot lot shorter. |

| Prices from Premierbet Where will Croatia finish in Group F? Winners 5.50 2nd 2.62 3rd 2.60 4th 5.50 That 2.62 to finish second is very tasty. Can't see why a third place finish should be the favourite.

| Spreads Dept. | i suppose its related to the chance of finishing 1 place outside each possibility ie the chance of them finishing 1st is low so the price for 2nd increases somewhat. whereas in 3rd it wouldnt take much to finish 2nd or 4th. im not explaining this well, but i hope you get what i mean

| How about this for a bet at 40/1? The Brig thinks they will win it, and Ilunga and Colo both think that they have a leaky defence (due to their aggressive style), so how about 40/1 on ze Germans to concede the most goals? |

| Looks alright to me Joe. If the rags could avoid getting drubbed, (Angola for one seem to be changing style to try and prevent this) then it could open the door for a side like Germany to concede consistently over say five games, without getting truly found out until a side like the Argies come knocking in the quarters. |

Six goals in the first game obviously means we will now get 384 goals in the tournament. I am moderately happy with my goals buy at 160. | |
