Default Liverpool got what they deserved

defensive tactics, delayed substitutions - no sympathy.

I wish there was ana advantage for teams who play to win rather than teams who play not to lose

And Milan played to win?????

Utter bollocks I'm afraid. They were both poor, Liverpool marginally less so. The only player worth a carrot was Inzaghi who led the line superbly and worked tirelessly. Other than that the majority of the rest were average at best.

To infer that Milan deserved to win because they played attack minded football is complete tosh.

All IMO obviously.

Didn't say that Milan played attack minded football, I said that Liverpool played very defensively - If they had started with a 4-4-2 formation last night I'm fairly sure they'd have beaten what was a very average Milan side - all imo of course

I thought that Liverpool maybe made the mistake of trying to beat AC Milan at their own game - but then again Liverpool aren't the typical Premiership side. I think most of English teams success against Italian sides have come when they crank up the pace and go all PL gung-ho on them. They generally struggle a bit with that as Arsenal and Man United both have demonstrated at times. Both teams have also been guilty of the opposite over the years though. But making it a trench war against an Italian side and hope to nick it is a little optimistic. There are nobody better at getting a first half goal from a set piece, slow things down for an hour and then nick another one late on to win 2-0. It is the Italian job.

Liverpool changed that script ever so slightly with a late goal last night, but the formula was the same.
