Stop this kidding now.
There is no alternative to betfair in next 50 years and you know this.
People who are buzzing more are in 99.5% category because remaining 0.5% don't care about this or don't have time to look upon it.
HTH.

20% (let alone the principle) is nothing but legalised theft. there is no ethical reasoning for it at all...it is theft.
the one thing which will make bf take speedy notice is adverse newspaper publicity...it would make a very big splash indeed if the dailies got their teeth into it

End Of Debate :

Everyone is talking about this new rule/system of 20% Tax.

IMHO :

1.Winners are not going to be affected by this.
Because if they are winning at betfair then they can think they are betting at online bookmakers (odds 20% less) but with lay facility .

2.Losers are not going to be effected by it (everyone knows) .

Still you wanna leave then betfair answer is going to be " you are most welcome" |: .

I think 5/1000 don't having any complaint.
Only some jokers are raising this issue.

D Mail sports editorial desk 0207 9386000 have promised to investigate to see if there is a public interest story. others should call them, refer them to the bf and bettingforum threads and make clear that bf have started pulling the injurious bf threads (eg innocent bystander's)

the daq market had tighter spreads today and was clearly the better of the two markets to trade. bf matched a little more. I would suggest down to a few large players who faced off a few times.

Clearly some people have withdrawn funds from bf and it will take a while for them to hit the daq. Despite that today was an impressive first stab at injecting life into daq i/r cricket markets. We actually had two viable i/r markets with a user able to choose how much they wished to pay for the privelege of winning in the market if they were successful. And amen to that.

Back tomorrow for me. It's simple. If i win an amount i can expect to win on a pro 40 market the commission saved alone pays for a cuzza. A test match and mrs c will start nagging about handbags again.

hey delta to be honest it's like eating a hotdog after eating premium free range, caviar fed, best beef, but I'll be damned giving BetUNfair 20%
Join the revolution!!!!! christ we have all strived for 2% now it's been offered on a plate, all we need is a few of the big bookies and lumpy to join and the party is ours. They have targeted the sharps and the sharps will do what comes naturally to them and hopefully win.
Now the least you can do is call the D Mail just ask for the D Mail Sports Ed Desk - it's daylight robbery + the fact they have been deleting our freds!

Sorry but there is no public interest story. There's a vested interest story and any old hack worth his salt would dismiss this as a non-story. Which is probably a good enough reason to choose the Daily Mail

Delta - 0.5% of their registered users. That could be 50% of their ACTIVE users

If you're not bothered, you stick to Betfair. But if ALL the winners moved, you losers would soon complain that you couldnt get a bet on

I just tried to rustle something up for my mate, who is a journo. I stopped after the 6th line, realising how stupid I was being. As you say Rosebud, there is no public interest in this at all

If anything, the public will just ask why these people making a profit aren't being taxed

Troy might have a point here to be honest - I tried explaining it to a mate today who barely ever gambles and was met with pretty much that reaction i.e they work hard and have to pay tax so why shouldn't proven successful gamblers. If that is the sort of general opinion readers would have then doubt a daily rag publishing something would do anything other than make profitable gamblers look very greedy - they'll miss the point at whose getting the 20%

you could go at it with a yet more inflation angle, and talk about some users are to receive an x00% increase in the biggest item in the household budget!

just like council tax i don't think betfair's commission is in the cpi basket!

In what sense of the word, linesharp? Because I baulk at being labelled a loser by someone who uses seven question marks to end a sentence**. If you refer to my social life the answer is an emphatic YES If you refer to my trading.... I hold my own.

**that's right, I counted them
