Please consider me for an upgrade in my forum status! Many of the current Gold Members will know me. However, some may black-ball me on the basis of being Welsh; understandably so

Hello lads, nice to see the regulars over here. Was anyone still reading the old forum for last nights game? O'Dwyer was a key contributor and that says it all......he 'free moneyed' and went 'all in' on Notts...the rest as they say was history!!

Hi ted. I believe Admin have said there will be no new gold members until after all this Premium Charge kerfuffle has blow over but hopefully we can sort it soon after that. Even if you are Welsh.

Put me in the hat, I dont have a funny handshake though or anything like that!!! I like all things mysterious however, on the cricket front I am a long suffering Derbyshire supporter who goes along occasionally, mainly for the 20 20s nowadays. One things for sure I'm better off away from the betfair forum as the more info is on there the more it will encourage people to be logged into their accounts and placing bets! Though come to think of it maybe I should go back and it may work a treat as they all switch off lol.

Just to expand a little, I'm probably most known for posting on the snooker forum and once tied with the esteemed pro gambler golfjudge for the coveted winner of the World Championship prediction league.
Since then I have seemed to go downhill in that particular event and in fact didnt make the play offs last year, probably a bit of too much too soon(!!), congrats to parsnip 02 though the current holder.
My main take is to price up every snooker match mainly from a couple of years worth of past results, taking into account current form and also through analysing the clashes of styles and who will probably be most suited by the match up. If there are any overlays I then tend to play them, although still prefer to operate within certain price brackets (which was a mistake in the recent NI Trophy as several big prices went unbacked).
I have played extensively in local league snooker for many years, I draw on this to try to get a psychological angle of the players mindsets, which may sometimes affect my pricing and give me an edge where few would see one.
Have also successfully played the outright markets in snooker as the draw is clearly mapped out through to the final in most competitions (not so the Grand Prix this year) but there does seem to be a growing trend towards four or five of the top players so not sure it will so lucrative in the near future.
Also I tend to be rather pessimistic in my nature so it is only very rarely where I would go overboard about anything, I find it less stressful that way, but have made decent profits for the last three seasons.
Maybe I should be increasing my stakes to enhance my advantage but not sure its quite so enjoyable once you go out of your comfort zone and also you have the problem of bookmakers generally taking more notice and restricting bets.
The exchanges dont tend to be so great anyway for snooker betting unless you wait until before the off (I'm not an inplay man as yet) so tend to look for the best prices with the bookmakers.
This in the main is why I havent been a massive Betfair player in the last couple of years, the burgeoning fixture list in horse racing meant I started looking around for other sports to punt and only tended to use the exchange rarely (I was employed full time at that period) but until then had concentrated mainly on the nags and used to go racing regularly, usually specialising in the all weather, especially the fibresand because I could easily get to meetings at both Southwell and Wolverhampton.
All races on those surfaces tended to be run at a fast pace, and certain types of horses excelled while the rail at Wolver was a death knell, even though several top jockeys who didnt regularly ride there used to ignore this fact (unless under the orders of Mr Rodgers lol, wonder if he's moving to Betdaq now). Since the surface at the latter track has changed to polytrack, the races there are run much more like Lingfield, especially over the longer trips which means a much slower pace and usually a bunched / sprint finish so you tended to get different types of horses winning - I think the pro punter Dave Nevison admitted at this stage he found it so difficult on the sand he turned to jump racing.
I still did OK out of it though but it was a bit galling to have to adapt once you'd gotten it down to a tee, still have a nasty taste in my mouth from when one of the bookies swindled me out of £350 by taking away my ticket and not returning it (before the days of computerisation).
So I'm now in a bit of a transitional period, harking back for a bit of horse racing action (have been slowly catching up with the form) but hopefully being able to continue to follow the snooker with the same degree.
I've also had some decent success on gaelic football this year and tried a few other sports with mixed results although I dont tend to price these up and follow statistics rather more rather then having extensive knowledge of them.
Also have a blog I've just started to keep me off the betfair boards at sittingchilly
I admittedly have a bit of a silly streak sometimes so if you prefer I will try and keep the jibberish to that avenue, suppose it keeps me sane to have a laugh from time to time if you're not on the best of runs!!
Or you can put me in a straightjacket now lol.
Anyway the betting will hopefully be my main source of income for the near future so have to try and make it work one way or another, sorry if I came across as a bit of a raging bull re the Betfair debacle but from my point of view they couldn't have timed it any worse just as I was about to return to placing decent money into their horse racing pools.
I was only calculating my perceived charges from previous results of yesteryear (admittedly not over a long period) but they indicated I would have to pay about 3k extra if I achieved that level of success.
Admittedly that may not be a goer at the minute, as need to familiarise myself with certain biases and horses / personnel in the flesh but in the meantime would hope I have found a few extra ways to keep ahead of the game just by analysing results.
Anyway thats it, seems like I've been typing an hour lol.
