The Lockdown Diary - DAY 111

Posted 13th July 2020 at 15:00 by Cormack
The wonderful juxtaposition of the second day of the cricket being on the lockdown day of a Nelson.

Hard to believe that six weeks earlier, not only was the ground receiving minimal work, but I was on barracks only and I could have only taken this photo by long range drone. I only mention that because there was a local photography enthusiast (no, not that, you want Otterspool for that...) who sent a drone up to take some shots - a regular around the club, not some spy or something....

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 109

Posted 11th July 2020 at 23:44 by Cormack
Mum sounded a touch 'off' on #109 - she'd been put back on oxygen and her BP was low; and was to be sent for a chest x-ray. She is a martyr to chest infections, and had been held back a day or two for the same on admission, so not necessarily unexpected

The day was work interspersed by son's nets, and the anticipation of a two-day mini round robin among the members, 6 squads, nine-a-side, to take place on #110 and #111, players sanitise, the ball wiped every six overs, the non-striker...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 108

Posted 10th July 2020 at 23:18 by Cormack
IT hell on #108, had been asked to pitch in on some work which, with functioning internet, I could have knocked over in 90 minutes.

Ten hours overall. We're changing supplier in under a month and this is the reason why - lockdown has shown we need more juice.

Recommended listening - R.E.M., Bad Day

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 107

Posted 9th July 2020 at 23:52 by Cormack
Contents may settle in transit. Today was quieter.

It's been a frantic couple of weeks and I have learnt to despise the phone all over again. On this day, there were double figure interactions on the phone.

This is unacceptable. I understand the requirement, especially in the current climate and doubly so after recent events but it is still, as Stephen Fry said, the rudest invention known to man, sitting there repeating itself, "talk to me, talk to me"...
