The Lockdown Diary - DAY 104

Posted 6th July 2020 at 13:12 by Cormack
Now we're out of lockdown (I think?), does this thread need an asterisk?

Quiet Sunday, there was cleaning going on upstairs and a postponed CHIP DAY! oddly never took off (I did peel - new peeler with the mandolin(e) is excellent - and chop a few but there was no real queue) to the point that I had a quiet day in the kitchen. I made cookies on #103 and they were eaten by this morning and made Lion Bar brownies today which might have been the best batch I've ever made - held together...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 103

Posted 5th July 2020 at 12:11 by Cormack
A day of limited drama in store which I managed to ramp up. Mum has the phone working and chargeable and is doing pretty well. Fingers crossed for a move so she can get her own gear delivered, but at the same time she's naturally gregarious and comfy where she is if it has to be so.

The pubs opened and the Wetherspoon's in Old Swan was packed, I assume with people who miss low grade beef and catering chips. We passed by say 50 yards away in the car and I wish I'd worn a mask......

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 101

Posted 3rd July 2020 at 23:43 by Cormack
Late in with checking in. #101 was the day Mum had her surgery, three pins in and a lucid late evening call post recovery, which looks promising. Ideally they ship her back to the other hospital because it's more convenient for all, it's a better indicator of her wellbeing and start of recovery, the food is better and most importantly, she can wear her own fatigues.

I'll keep on keeping on here, I think. The rousing demands on here to continue, well it's only fair. However,...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 100

Posted 2nd July 2020 at 16:57 by Cormack
Raises bat, removes helmet, winces because of the ongoing shoulder misery.

Yes, Wednesday 01 July is the hundredth measured day of this blog, from the prologue announcement way back in March through a phenomenal heatwave period and various challenges. It's upsetting therefore that I have to lead in with the third person to pass away, my uncle in Australia. It's sadly not a surprise, he has had progressive Alzheimer's since at least 2013 - he was beginning to shown infrequent signs...
