Just been browsing the weekend coupon, and come upon a value price that I don't particularly want.

It's Bochum at 4/6 draw no bet against Bielefeld in the Bundesliga.

I don't know what price this should be to be honest. I'm rubbish at working these things out. They're a general 11/10 -0.5, although there's some 5/4 and 6/5 which will probably be chopped soon. I'm guessing 4/7 DNB would be about right.

I have no reasons for fancying Bochum to win this. They were rubbish last week losing to Cottbus, whilst Bielefeld were beating the mighty Bayern Munich. However, a small part of me thinks I should take the price because it's value.

I've always been one to go with instinct. If I really fancy a team I would just as happily take 5/4 as 11/8, although I would probably draw the line at 11/10.

Would you back something you don't fancy at what you conceive to be a value price?

PS

Presuming there is no means of arbing. In this case it's a 100% book (although 99% if you include a bookie I have never used - bet1128 ).

What was the outcome Ilunga?

Well the match result was Bochum 2-1 Bielefeld.

I don't know if Ilunga did the bet or not(?)

I didn't do the bet. I suppose if you take enough of these bets you will make a profit in the long run. I find it easier to take these wrong prices when they are the right side of even money (Levante 5/2 v Depor, Hartlepool 13/8 DNB v Grimsby to name two recent ones). If I have a slight fancy then I'm happy to let it ride, but with that one I'd have wanted to arb it, and there were no guarantees of being able to do that. There's usually at least one wrong DNB price each weekend so I'm happy to pick and choose.
