Can you explain the scoring bowler? What's a strike worth, etc., etc. ? I played a lot but just took the score from the computer at the end...

They score it differently on TV - basically they put up what is the maximum score a bowler could get if he strikes all the way.

Basically you score 10 points for a strike, plus the score with your next two balls

For a spare, you get 10 points plus the score with your next ball

So if you go 9/ X X X 81 in the first 5 frames, your score after each frame would be

1st frame 10 for the spare plus 10 for the next ball =20
2nd frame 10 for the strike, plus 10 for the next ball and 10 for the ball after that =30
3rd frame 10 for the strike, plus 10 for the next ball and 8 for the ball after that =28
4th frame 10 for the strike, plus 8 for the next ball and 1 for the ball after that = 19

5th frame 9 points only
